What your NOC code decides
Your National Occupational Classification (NOC) code sets your TEER level, and the TEER level decides which programs you can use. TEER 0 to 3 work counts for FSW and CEC. Some trade codes also qualify for FST. Your code also decides whether you can be invited in an occupation category round.
Choosing the right code
Pick the code whose lead statement and main duties match what you actually did, not the job title your employer used. A mismatch is one of the most common reasons applications are refused. Search the official NOC site, or use the NOC finder to see how a code is treated in 2026.
