What the work involves

Main duties

  • Provide nursing care within scope of practice based on patient assessment and care plans
  • Take vital signs, apply sterile dressings, collect specimens and follow infection control
  • Give medication and record its effects
  • Monitor respiratory therapy and intravenous therapy
  • Track patient progress and document how well care is working
  • Teach patients and families about health and safety
