NWT Nominee Program - Employer-Driven Stream
The Employer-Driven Stream is the NWT's main route: an NWT employer nominates a foreign worker with a permanent full-time job offer. It has three categories (Entry Level/Semi-Skilled, Skilled Worker, NWT Express Entry). Employers submit EOIs and the territory ranks them by points and invites the top scorers in set draws.
Who it suits
- Foreign workers with a permanent full-time job offer from an NWT employer that cannot find Canadian workers
- Candidates in TEER 0-5 occupations; the right category depends on TEER and Express Entry status
Requirements
- CategoriesThree categories: Entry Level/Semi-Skilled (TEER 4-5), Skilled Worker (TEER 0-3), NWT Express Entry (TEER 0-3 with an active Express Entry profile). ↗ immigratenwt.ca
- Job offerPermanent, non-seasonal, full-time job offer of at least 30 hours a week from an NWT employer registered in the territory for at least 1 year, paying at least the NWT median wage for the occupation. ↗ immigratenwt.ca

- SelectionEmployers submit an EOI for the worker; the worker completes a survey; GNWT scores human capital, NWT labour market connection and adaptability, then invites the top-ranked in draws. ↗ immigratenwt.ca

How candidates are selected
Points-based EOI. 2026 intake: the Employer-Driven Stream and Francophone Stream opened 2026-03-09; Employer-Driven EOI draws were set for 2026-03-25 (held), 2026-06-25, an added 2026-08-26 and 2026-09-25 (EOI deadlines 3 days before; 2026-09-22 for the last). EOI profiles are accepted continuously and stay on file up to 12 months. Scoring considers language, age, work experience, education, NWT employment and connections, and adaptability.
Location requirement: Job offer from an NWT employer; the Entry Level category also needs 12 months with the nominating employer.
