Express Entry draw #389: Provincial Nominee Program
On January 5, 2026, IRCC held Express Entry round #389, a Provincial Nominee Program round. It issued 574 invitations to apply (ITAs), and the lowest-ranked candidate invited had a CRS score of 711. Compared with the previous Provincial Nominee Program round (#386 on December 15, 2025, CRS 731), the cutoff fell 20 points, with 175 more invitations.
Tie-breaking rule: candidates with exactly 711 points were invited only if they submitted their profile before October 06, 2025 at 01:54:31 UTC.
IRCC’s pool snapshot of January 4, 2026 counted 236,554 profiles, of which roughly 457 scored 711 or more (estimated from score bands, all programs combined).
Who this round was for
Candidates who already hold a provincial or territorial nomination through an Express Entry–aligned stream. The nomination adds 600 CRS points, which is why these cutoffs sit far above other rounds.
